Veronika Botos

Veronika Botos trained at the Béla Bartók High School of Music and the Ferenc Liszt Academy of Music, with further study at the Yehudi Menuhin Academy in Gstaad and on viola d’amore. She took second place at the Pál Lukács National Viola Competition in 1988 and first place at the Pál Lukács Grand Prize in 1992.

A founding member of the Hungarian Virtuosi Chamber Orchestra, she played tutti viola in the Hungarian State Symphony Orchestra before joining the Hungarian State Opera in 1997. She has been solo viola there since 2009.
