Nicoletta Manni trained at the La Scala Academy Ballet School from the age of 13. After graduating she spent three seasons with the Staatsballett in Berlin under Vladimir Malakhov, then joined La Scala’s ballet company in 2013. She was named Prima Ballerina in April 2014 and, on 8 November 2023, Étoile of Teatro alla Scala, the first dancer chosen from the company for that title in nearly forty years, after dancing Tatiana in Cranko’s Onegin opposite Roberto Bolle.

She dances the classical and contemporary principal roles at La Scala, including Nureyev’s Odette/Odile, Kitri and Aurora, and works by Balanchine, MacMillan, Cranko and Neumeier. She was the Italian candidate for the 2015 Prix Benois de la Danse and has appeared as a guest with the Bolshoi and in galas worldwide.
