Natalya Butchko was born in Fairfax, Virginia, and began ballet at The Washington Ballet. She later trained privately in Washington and New York, then on scholarship at the Ballet Academy of the Vienna State Opera, graduating in 2016 into the Vienna State Ballet.
She became a demi-soloist in 2022/23 and a soloist from 2026/27. In 2023 she received the Friends of the Vienna State Ballet sponsorship prize.
