Frédéric Olivieri

Frédéric Olivieri was born in Nice. He won the Prix de Lausanne in 1977, entered the Paris Opera Ballet, and was appointed soloist in 1981 under Rudolf Nureyev. He later became an étoile of the Ballets de Monte-Carlo and a principal of Hamburg Ballet.

He has been director of the La Scala ballet company in two periods and, since 2003, director of the Dance Department of the La Scala Academy. His staging of La fille mal gardée for the Academy Ballet School is the production David Coleman conducted in April 2023.
