Sir Edward Elgar (1857–1934) was an English composer whose concert works include the Enigma Variations, the Pomp and Circumstance marches, the violin and cello concertos and two symphonies. He was appointed Master of the King’s Musick in 1924.

His music is billed on Golden Age: English Elegance at the Hungarian State Opera, conducted by David Coleman.
