António Casalinho was born in Leiria, Portugal, and trained from the age of eight at Conservatório Internacional de Ballet e Dança Annarella Sanchez. He was a demi-soloist at the Bavarian State Ballet from 2021/22, a soloist in 2023 and a principal in 2024, then joined the Vienna State Ballet as a principal in 2025/26.
He won Prix de Lausanne gold and the contemporary dance award in 2021, Youth America Grand Prix junior and senior Grand Prix awards, and the Léonide Massine Award as dancer of the year in 2022.
